Starting your own interior design project can be stressful! At Kitt Interiors we want to help you make the right decisions from the outset. We have compiled a list of FAQ’s to help answer those niggling questions.

No.- A good designer can save you money in the longterm by avoiding expensive mistakes such as the classic one of picking the wrong paint colours! I have seen this several times over my thirty years in this business. This can cost a few thousand by the time you buy the paint and hire a painter! Good space planning and colour coordination will give you the best use out of your living space and good design will create a warm and calm atmosphere in the designated area.

Any designer interested in working for you should be prepared to attend an initial meeting , free of charge, at your house/site where the work is going to be carried out so that you can “interview” the designer. This is a very important stage for you as this is your opportunity to decide if you will get on with this person over a period of time . Will you be happy to have them involved in your personal space every week for the projected duration?

The advantage of hiring an interior designer is that they are dedicating the time and creativity exclusively to you to creat a well designed scheme, plan the works, carry out the works, do all of the installation and finalise the finished look. The designer will know where to source the products , the best trades people to hire for the work and this leaves your working day stress free and uninterrupted by several different contractors contacting you with various queries. You will only have to deal with the designer for the entire project if you hire them for the project management role as well. You will be achieving good design, good planning and good workmanship. This is not something you want to revisit if you make a mistake yourself within a year or two as it is an expensive and stressfull procedure having any disruption of your home or office.
